9. My Surname/Occupation is not listed in the registration form of Maheronline. What should I do?
Maheronline has tried to be as comprehensive as possible while creating the many lists being used in the registration form. However, it is possible that your particular surname, education, occupation etc may not be represented here.

In such a case we request that you use the 'Other' option provided to you. Also, you can send an email to info@maheronline.org clearly listing the new addition you would like us to make to our matrimonial service. While we do not guarantee that your suggestion will be accepted, we will try our best to ensure that it does.

10. While registering I came across a question that asked me whether I am a Manglik. What is the meaning of Manglik?
Manglik is a criteria determined by the position of the stars at the time of your birth. It is generally calculated using the date of birth, time of birth and the Janam Patri (Horoscope). Manglik generally implies that there are some negative forces of matrimony that influence your life. In the case of Hindu weddings, it is preferred if a Manglik boy enters into a matrimonial alliance with a Manglik girl and vice versa, the theory being that 2 negatives make a positive. The Manglik option is important to only those people who are particular about horoscopes.

If you 're not sure about whether you're a Manglik then you may select the 'Don't Know' option as an answer.

These details are usually of interest for matching horoscopes. You may leave these details blank if you are not sure of answers to these questions. However, we recommend that you try and find these answers and enter them later. This information will be useful in generating automatic horoscopes for better matrimonial matches.

12. What is a Profile ID? Is it important?
A Profile ID uniquely identifies your profile on Maheronline. Every member of Maheronline has a unique Profile ID. The Profile ID appears at the top of every profile. If your Profile ID were ABCD then it would appear as 'ABCD's Profile'. Your Profile ID is also used when you login to Maheronline Matrimonial section only. You may have different ID for forum, these are two separate sections but it would be good if you can keep the same ID for both.

13. Are there any specific DOs and DON'Ts while specifying a Profile ID during registration?
Choose a Profile ID that suits your profile and personality. Your Profile ID can contain only alphabets, numbers and the underscore ( _ ) character. The length of the Profile ID should be between 4 and 20 letters.

Your Profile ID should not contain contact information like e-mail address, telephone numbers, website addresses, fax numbers, etc. This is against the terms of use/service agreement for Maheronline Matrimonials.

14. Are there any specific DOs and DON'Ts while creating a matrimonial profile on Maheronline?
Do not use your matrimonial profile to display your contact details. Do not make commercial use of it and do not include content that is vulgar, pornographic or racist. See our terms of use / service agreement for more details of what type of content is prohibited on Maheronline.

Be as detailed as possible while creating your profile. After your profile is activated, be sure to fill in the Partner Profile and also to upload a photograph. The more information you add the more your chances of finding a partner. Also, the information enetered by you is used by our eMatchmaker technology to automatically find matches that suit your preferences.

15. While registering I got an error message which asks me to choose another Profile ID. Why?
This is because the Profile ID you chose has already been registered by another member of Maheronline. You must choose a Profile ID that has not yet been registered by any other member yet. It is also possible that the Profile ID you chose is in violation of our service agreement.

16. While registering, I got an error message that says that my e-mail address is already registered with Maheronline and that I must specify another e-mail address. Why does this happen?
Every profile posted on Maheronline is associated with only one unique e-mail address. You may have received this error message because you or someone else has already posted a matrimonial profile using this e-mail address. If you think your email address is being used by someone else, please do send us an email from the email address that is under contention and let us know.

17. What is partner profile?
The partner profile describes your preferences for a matrimony partner. Other members can view your partner profile and if they think that their profile matches your preferences, they can contact you. Also, Maheronline's profile matching service matches your partner profile with other members' personal profiles and gives you a list of those matching profiles.

To create your partner profile all you need to do is follow the following steps:

Login to your Members Area.
Click on Partner Profile under My Profile and Account to the left of your screen.
Specify what qualities you are looking for in a partner by filling out the form. Click the 'Submit' button at the end of the form.

Your partner profile will now be displayed along with your personal profile to all Maheronline members. You can edit you partner profile any time you want by following a similar procedure as above.

You can also create/edit your Partner Profile using our Advanced Search feature after logging in. At the end of the various criteria, tick on the checkbox for Save as Partner Profile. The criteria chosen by you will be automatically saved as your Partner Profile.

18. Is it necessary to attach a photo to my matrimonial profile? How can I attach a photo to my profile?
Our statistics show that adding a photo to your matrimonial profile increases the number of times your profile is viewed by upto 7 times. You are likely to receive 10 times as many responses if you attach a photo. The most viewed profiles are those that have a photo.

To attach a photograph all you need to do is follow the following steps:

Login to your Members Area then goto Matrimonials.
Click on My Profile Details under My Profile, click on Add/update Photo and follow the instructions
