The
first Maher community centre was opened in the city of Porbandar,
the birthplace of the great Mahatma Gandhi, in 1929.
The building was funded by collection gathered
by Maldevbapu,
who himself started by going to each and every Maher person.
The original building was renovated in 1987 and
in February 2000, this became the headquarters of newly established
Maher Supreme Council.
This historical centre consists of offices
and 3 large halls, which are available for wedding(s) and special
events.
The centre is authorised to provide marriage certificate
for every wedding that takes places at the centre.
Currently the cost is for hiring single hall.
Did you know? that according to the record
book the first wedding took place on . Since then
weddings have taken place (to date 25th July 2002).
The centre is very well established and is
in much demand therefore 2nd floor is being added to to be more
spacious and to accomodate more people.
